While programming education is expected to develop, there have been previous studies on descriptions of programming in textbook analysis, but to the best of the authors' knowledge, there are no textbook analyses of hardware. In this study, we analyzed the number of pages and content of programming education in elementary school textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), focusing on the number of pages and content of descriptions related to hardware using electronic devices, etc., to determine how programming education is treated in these textbooks, including characteristics of subjects and grades and trends of publishers.
