Charging of battery energy storage systems (BESSs) offer a promising approach for mitigating congestion. One approach for utilizing BESSs is to assign specific charging time window to BESSs. However, scheduling the charging time window uniformly across all areas is inappropriate, as congestion mitigation effect differs by area. To ensure flexibility for BESS operation, this study proposes a method to assign area-specific charging time window using sensitivity analysis of congestion mitigation effects.
