Traditional noninvasive neuromodulation techniques that use electromagnetic approaches are limited by spatial resolution and depth penetration. In contrast, ultrasound (US) stimulation presents a promising alternative. However, the precise cellular mechanisms behind neural activation through US remain unclear, particularly due to a lack of adequate cellular experimental systems. In this context, we report recent findings on synaptic plasticity dynamics in cortical slices.
