In particular, in order to capture the striking reflections of the gold leaf in the paintings, the Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) data, a measure of gold's spectral reflectance, was applied to the game engine's shaders to achieve a texture close to the appearance of gold leaf.
