SB1, Sector Board 1, has discussed on various topics such as the smart grid and emerging technologies. SB1 pointed out the lack of experts in the domain. The Asian members meeting was held in Singapore first time, outside of the east Asian area.  Two SG, Strategic Groups, activities were reported. SG 2 succeeded JICCG, Joint IEC-CIGRE Coordination Group for UHV.
