Thus, a mathematical model of the control system based on the relationships between voltage and current is presented. By this approach, power factor control of generator is achieved. Also, dc-link voltage regulation is performed by generator side converter rather than the grid side converter. The grid side inverter is controlled by a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control loop which provides smooth transients between islanding and grid connected operation. The closed-loop system response to load changes from no-load to full-load state and from full-load to no-load state is studied in order to test the effectiveness of proposed control structure.
