To obtain their insulation characteristics, this study has used the models simulating their insulating elements: inter-turn and section-to-section insulation. As the results, the measured 50% breakdown voltages of the inter-turn model and the section-to-section model under the standard lightning impulse voltages are 1.06 and 1.13 higher than those under the standard switching impulse voltages, respectively.
