The existing supplementary controller designed with the standard H-inf approach is unable to increase the damping of the plant with poorly damped poles and thereby affect the performance and robustness of the system.  Therefore, the bilinear transform has been used tinthe design to prevent thepole-zero cancellation of the poorly damped poles and to improve the control system performance.
