TWDEC converts the kinetic energy of fusion protons into a high frequency AC electric power by a reversal process of the linear accelerator. The electrode voltage is self-excited and becomes 1.0 MV at about five milliseconds.By decreasing stages of the decelerator, the electric output becomes 100%(4stages), 83.6%(3stages), 62.7%(2stages), and 32.8%(single stage). The time required for changing the load is about 2.5 milliseconds.
