The purpose of this study is to investigate whether a certain operation of IPFC in the system will cause transient stability problem or not. The power injection model of IPFC in transient stability analysis is proposed and incorporated into a SMIB system. Given the generator rotor angle and certain settings of the IPFC control variables, the generator’s electric output can be computed. Thus the power-angle curve can be drawn.
