The power system response to the current interruption is generates transient recovery voltage. It is a critical parameter for fault interruption by a high-voltage circuit-breaker. This TRV value may be in excess of the standard value and severely effect on CB. This phenomenon is known but the detail characteristics of TRV such as rate of rise of recovery voltage, the maximum values for amplitude factor and oscillation are unknown.
