This makes it possible to build a REBCO pancake coil using commercial REBCO tapes, and reduce the cost. In this study, an analysis based on PEEC model coupled with thermal simulation is conducted, for a 60-turn REBCO pancake coil, whose Ic in the middle of the tape is set to be 25% of its original value, as a ‘defect’.
