要約(英語): Artistic tiling, in which the pieces are several meaningful shapes such as animals, is called Escher tiling. For a given target figure, the problem of finding an Escher-like tiling consisting of a tile shape that is similar to the target image is called the Escherization problem. In this presentation, I describe the formulation of the Escherization problem using a distance function that focuses on the local similarity between shapes.
