要約(英語): This article compares the measured acoustic noise of a ball-bearing-supported motor and a proposed bearingless motor. Bearingless motors can reduce the acoustic noise and vibration because they operate without any mechanical ball bearings. In the experiment, acoustic noises related to the rotational speed of the ball-bearing-supported and bearingless motors are measured using a commercially available FFT analyzer. The measured overall acoustic noise of the proposed bearingless motor was found to be significantly lower than that of the ball-bearing-supported motor at every rotational speed.
