要約(日本語): Authors have observed lightning strokes hitting the wind turbines using the dataset observed by the Japanese Lightning Deyecyopn Network (JLDN) in the coastal area of the Sea of Japan. We analyzed the relationship between the number of lightning strokes hitting wind turbines and their altitude and showed the correlation coefficients between the number of those lightning strokes and their altitude were -0.113 and 0.171 for summer and winter, respectively. The location of wind turbines estimated to have been hit by lightning discharges more than 30 times were on the edge of the wind farm, in the westernmost position, and in a place where there are no other ones around it in winter. The result of this study indicated the number of lightning strokes hitting them was more dominant in the location of the wind turbine than in its altitude.
