To aid better practices for farming and help farmers to increase their income, agri-advisories is important. However, most of the advisory methods that are available are not personalized to the specific conditions of the farms. For personalized advisory, IoT interventions are commonplace and that is difficult to sustain given the high cost of maintaining such systems. Given this limitation, our research aims to examine the effectiveness of providing targeted and equitable agri-advisory services connecting end users with agricultural experts. We designed and developed a rule-based recommendation services using area, crop variety and irrigation specific package of practices to target stakeholders. Thereby, enabling just-in time recommendation services using farm activity management learning and creating farm knowledge base. For providing personalized advisory based on feedback from farms, we developed a unique query generation module that automates feedback gathering through directed queries based on package of practice. The response by the farmers is then annotated to verify the farm stage, or advisory incorporation, through which personalized advisory is generated. The present study was conducted in Tumkur district in Karnataka State with the objective of analyzing early evaluation of farm practices. Our mobile and web platform will add data-based value services to pre-existing practices in agriculture and create a knowledge base for farm management. Further, ensuring healthy and high crop yield, and increase demand for input efficiency. The findings show that the developed technology exhibits potentially disruptive features for farm management including inter-cropping capabilities, necessitating greater input from a farmer’s advisory network. Thus, the advisory service program effects have an implication in a cost-benefit analysis to farmers, and aids farm management.
