要約(英語): Diane Vaughan, a sociology professor at Columbia University, used the expression "normalization of deviance" in her research on the Space Shuttle Challenger. She published a book “The Challenger Launch Decision” in 1996. She warned that NASA's organizational culture itself was the cause of the accident. Unfortunately, the 2003 Columbia disaster was a realization of her warnings. This paper describes the consideration of this term from the perspective of engineering ethics.
