要約(英語): Many golf courses are located in suburban areas with no tall buildings around. Therefore, players are more likely to be exposed to the risk of lightning strikes. For this reason, many golf courses are equipped with lightning shelters that players can use to quickly evacuate when a thundercloud approaches. The roof of the lightning shelter is made of conductors, with down conductors installed along the pillars and grounding wires at the end of the down conductor. When lightning strikes the roof, the lightning current is released to the ground through the down conductors and the grounding wires. In this paper, we report the results of a high-voltage test on a scaled-down model of the lightning shelter to confirm the safety of people inside the lightning shelter.
