However, their utilization remains low due to several factors like a.) poor customer experiences due to long waiting times in queues at peak charging hours b.) alternative charging facilities like at home charging, subsidized corporate charging etc. Due to low charger utilization the revenue of the Charge Point Operators is low. To resolve the problem of “low public charger utilization”, a data driven ‘EV Customer engagement’ approach that incentivizes EV riders for charging is proposed. This is done by predicting charging demand and using demand based dynamic tariffs and dynamic charge duration to encourage charging during low utilization periods and limit charging during high demand periods. In this research, the charging demand for a specific hour of the day is predicted using XGBoost machine learning algorithm and charging tariff is optimized as per demand to improve the revenue. To achieve maximum revenue for the merchants, optimal charging tariffs and durations were obtained using Genetic Algorithm (GA). The results show that the merchants’ revenue is increased by about 10 % using the dynamic tariff approach and charger utilizations by 8 %._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_
