要約(英語): Mental stress has been extensively studied, with physiological signal analysis being a key approach. Heartbeat evoked potential (HEP), brain signals time-locked to the heartbeat, have been shown to assess mental stress effectively. This study compares the performance of HEP with absolute power (EEG power spectral features), evaluating whether its added complexity offers significant advantages. The results demonstrate that HEP provides data samples over four times greater than absolute power. While absolute power achieves higher classification accuracy (up to 0.99), HEP achieves reasonable scores (0.72?0.89) with minimal pre-processing. These findings highlight HEP's prospects for stress assessment, particularly with improved pre-processing techniques.
