要約(英語): The science and technical researched on the mechanism of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami are summarized, and the lessons from are introduced. We have been obtaining results of field surveys as well as numerical simulation and satellite image analysis with ground truth data, in order to obtain the data related with the tsunami and its disaster, and identify extent of tsunami inundation and damage. The fore front of the tsunami research is also introduced.
