要約(日本語): The potential of environmental benefits from biomass power are numerous. However, it may also have some negative effects on the environment. The objective of this study is to evaluate the net CO2 emission of biomass power generation in Vietnam with assuming that a process that does not use any fossil fuels will have a 100% carbon closure. For that purpose, a life cycle assessment of CO2 emission of the system is investigated. CO2 emission of the system is classified into two categories which are operational emissions and equipment manufacturing and construction emissions. The result shows that when the capacity of the biomass power plant changing (10-300 MW), CO2 emission of biomass power generation varies from 5.28 to 5.84 g-C/kWhe, while it is 12.54 g-C/kWhe in United States and 106 g-C/kWhe of fossil power generations in Japan.
