要約(日本語): While the transmission constraints may restrict competitive behavior in electricity market and give firms more opportunities to exercise market power, it is generally believed that the long-term contracts can mitigate market power in spot market and reduce spot prices. This paper investigates the effects of long-term contracts on market power in a bid based pool with transmission constraints. The results show that the long-term contracts of firm in importing market may reduce the expected social welfare.
