要約(日本語): Hydrophobic polymer insulators are increasingly used worldwide for many advantages they offer over conventional porcelain and glass insulators. But being relatively new, their characteristics have not been fully clarified yet. In this paper, we investigate effect of core diameter of cylindrical polymer insulator on the contamination flashover voltage performance of polymer insulators under simulated rain and compare the results with those obtained under heavy fog conditions. Our invesigation results suggest that the contamination flashover voltage of cylindrical polymer insulator under simulated rain changes very gradually with increase in core diameter.
