要約(日本語): This paper presents an application of Harvest Season Artificial Bee Colony (HSABC) algorithm as a new method of evolutionary computations to solve an Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) problem with pollutant emissions considering a power balance, transmission losses, capacity constraints and voltage limits. This novel algorithm is used to evaluate an ELD of the power system operation throughout a Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem. The IEEE-30 bus system is adopted as a standard testing model of power system. The initial population of candidate solutions as committed power outputs of generating units is populated by using a random generation and it is used as one population set throughout the optimization process for carrying out the problem. The results were compared in terms of costs, obtained iterations, power losses, emissions, power outputs and statistical values with other methods. The simulations showed that the convergence speed and searching ability of the HSABC algorithm are better than the existing tested methods. The proposed method of the HSABC algorithm seems strongly to be a new promising approach for solving an ELD throughout the CEED problem based on the solution quality and the computational efficiency under several constraints.
