要約(日本語): Classically, stability is assessed via models. However, it is difficult to derive a tractable mathematical model for complex power grids due to their nonlinear and stochastic nature. Here we show a new data-based approach to stability assessment without any development of models. This approach is enabled by the Koopman Mode Analysis (KMA), which is a technique of nonlinear modal decomposition based on Koopman operator for nonlinear dynamical systems, and detects the loss of stability using the properties of the point spectrum of Koopman operator. The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated with practical data on dynamics of physical power flows sampled from a major grid disturbance.
