要約(日本語): This paper investigated transients associated with the intersheath modes on an underground cable with reference to sheath grounding. This mode is clearly observed in a transient on a homogeneous cable with the sheath open-circuited. Transient voltages due to the intersheath modes are difficult to observe on a real cable which sheaths are grounded or on a crossbonded cable because the intersheath modes are overlapped with the other modes by the crossbonding. The propagation characteristic of the intersheath modes on the crossbonded cable can be investigated by adopting its homogeneous model. When a source is grounded, it is not easy to observe the intersheath mode for various modal components being involved.
