要約(日本語): This paper discusses a problem associated with a circuit theory and EMTP simulation to deal with a nonhomogeneous line composed of cascaded homogeneous lines of which the series impedance and shunt admittance are different from each other. When a lead wire connecting two lines are neglected, as often found in a theoretical analysis and EMTP simulation, a physical discontinuity appears between the lines, and results in in-accurate or erroneous frequency and time responses of the cascaded circuit. This problem never appears when a numerical electromagnetic analysis method such as NEC (numerical electromagnetic code) computation in frequency domain and FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) computation in time domain is adopted, because it always requires physical continuity of a given circuit. The degree of the in-accuracy depends on the physical length of the lead wire. Unless the wire is short enough compared with the cascaded lines, the lead wire should be considered in the circuit analysis.
