要約(日本語): A hybrid DC switch is a potential DC current interrupting device. Unlike conventional switches such as a mechanical switch and a semiconductor switch, the hybrid DC switch has a low-contact resistance and interrupt DC current rapidly. A copper based Tungsten (Cu-W) contact pair that have 1 mm-thickness of Tungsten material on the top of copper contacts can interrupt DC current up to 400 A without arc discharge after contact opening. However, a tungsten (W) and copper (Cu) contact pairs only interrupt DC current up 300 A and 120 A, respectively. This work compares physical phenomena of Cu, W and Cu-W contacts on heat distribution, electric potential and current during contact opening. The information of the comparison is used to explain how Cu-W contacts can interruption DC current higher than W and Cu contacts in case of without arc discharge.
