要約(日本語): In this study we analyze typical and large day-ahead forecast errors of photovoltaic power generation in Hokkaido region using an improved forecast method based on the use of machine learning, training data selection and simple ensembling. The analysis used 2 years of hourly data, excluding night periods. Regional forecasts of PV power are calculated from an upscaling procedure based on point forecasts of solar irradiance from JMA stations and a subsequent conversion of such values to the corresponding PV power output. Particular attention will be given to the characteristics of large forecast errors and the condition in which they happen.
