要約(日本語):This study evaluated the cost and specifications of the 100% variable renewable energy (VRE) system using solar, wind, and a hybrid storage system of batteries and hydrogen storage. By combining solar and wind power with the hybrid energy storage system—utilizing batteries for short-term fluctuations and hydrogen storage for long-term balancing—the system can efficiently respond to variable energy demand while minimizing the overall costs of energy supply. Multi-supply systems, which deliver both electricity and hydrogen, also show cost-saving potential. However, current supply costs from the 100% VRE system exceed Japan’s 2030 targets, indicating the need for additional measures to achieve cost competitiveness.
