要約(日本語):In recent years, photovoltaic (PV) power curtailments to maintain electricity supply-demand balance have become increasingly frequent. To utilize the excess PV energy, the Installation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is effective. Because BESS can submit both buy and sell bids in the electricity market, large-scale BESS installations have potential to influence market dynamics as price makers. Therefore, it is important to evaluate how large-scale BESS participation affects the economic performance of market participants. This study proposes a simulation-based evaluation method to quantitatively evaluate the impact of BESS participation under the simultaneous market, which is envisioned as the future electricity market in Japan. The proposed method incorporates market transactions in the day-ahead, intraday, and balancing (kWh) markets, as well as the imbalance settlements, enabling the calculation of profits and losses for the generation companies including PV or BESS companies. Simulation results quantitatively show the impact of the BESS capacity on the market prices and the profit of market participants.
