要約(日本語): In the present study, we tried to reveal a topographical organization of Information Processing Capacity (IPC). A microelectrode array mapped IPC by recording the multi-unit activities from the fourth layer of the auditory cortex of rats. Consequently, the recording sites with high IPC were localized in specific auditory subregions. In addition, recording sites with lower responsive threshold or wider frequency tuning exhibited higher IPC, only when the sound sequence was presented at fast rate. These results indicate that the topological organization of IPC may follow functional structures of the auditory cortex.
