要約(日本語): A long-term neural recording plays an important role in how we can understand brain plasticity and aging. But the difference in mechanical properties and biocompatibility between the neural probe and brain tissue makes it difficult to accurately record neuron activity over a long period. Therefore, high biocompatibility of a flexible material is necessary for studying long-term neural recording. A carbon nanotube (CNT) is one of the materials that have good electrical properties and biocompatibility. Thus, the CNT is suitable to be used as electrodes in the neural probe. In this research, we use the CNT as an electrode for neural recording and compare the results with a metal electrode such as aluminum or gold to show how the CNT can improve the results of long-term neural recordings.
