要約(日本語): Magnetic stimulation (MS) eases brain disorders through electric field induced by coils. Although therapeutic effects are known to be modulated by stimulation patterns, required conditions are partially examined. To reveal the conditions, experimental validations in small animals are needed. However, related studies used larger coils designed for humans, which cannot stimulate specific brain regions. To investigate the conditions of localized MS, we stimulated mouse auditory cortex (ACx) in vivo using a millimeter-sized coil. Under MS conditions estimated by the simulation of electric field in the brain, electrophysiological responses were significantly different compared to sham conditions. Here, we discuss the practical conditions of MS to locally induce neural activity in mouse ACx.
