要約(日本語): Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive method for treating tinnitus. However, its effectiveness is limited due to the fragility and variability of rTMS, and the inhibitory mechanisms underlying tinnitus treatments remain unknown. In this study, a millimeter-sized coil was constructed to stimulate the auditory cortex in mice with low-intensity intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS). We have found that iTBS increased amplitudes of both immediate and late peaks of local field potentials in the auditory cortex, which suggests that the modulation mechanism involves both cellular and network plasticity. Further investigations are needed to understand the effects of iTBS on auditory-specific features and to clinically apply it to hearing disorder treatments.
