要約(日本語): A biomarker for detecting symptoms of brain disorders is crucial for preventive medicine. The mismatch negativity (MMN) is an event-related potential component observed in electroencephalography (EEG) and serves as such a biomarker. However, little is known about the mechanisms underlying MMN generation with different anesthetic agents. To address this gap, we developed a flexible substrate enabling easy recording of electrical activity via multi-site screw electrodes implanted in the mouse head. Our experimental results demonstrate that different types of anesthesia induced distinct MMN properties in EEG responses, suggesting that anesthetic action involves varying mechanisms within the brain. Our method utilizing this biomarker holds promise for the diagnosis of specific brain disorders.
