要約(日本語):In recent years, bio-actuators composed of biocompatible materials have attracted increasing attention for their potential engineering applications. Our research group has been developing a donut-shaped bio-actuator that mimics the structure of the iris, enabling active control of a central pore. While we have successfully fabricated a sphincter muscle-like tissue to achieve pore contraction, fabricating a dilator muscle-like tissue for pore expansion remains challenging. In this study, we attempt to fabricate a dilator muscle-like tissue by redesigning the actuator geometry and introducing an external support frame to fix the outer edge. Our final goal is to develop a bio-actuator capable of constricting and dilating the pore by integrating sphincter and dilator muscle functionalities.
