Focussing on biophysical analysis leads to more rapid and practical performance for routine use. Integrated electromechanical stimulation and sensing capabilities of MEMS technology offer a wide range of design and application possibilities for single-cell measurements. Here, two examples are introduced to capture, stimulate and sense single cells for biophysical analysis.
