要約(英語): Although the conventional SS cable cleaver (SS cable: Self supporting Figure 8 aerial cable) has been used to cut the SS cable in order to separate the messenger wire from the main cable, it is reported by the field workers in aerial installation that it happens that the cleaver does not work well especially in winter season. Such feedback from the field workers had enabled us to perceive and analyze the problem of the conventional SS cable cleaver.Based on the analysis of the problem, we have developed a special tool ”Cleaver for SSW/SSD Cables” to easily separate the suspension wire from an SSW/SSD Cable(SSW cable: Self-supporting aerial cable with even spaced windows between window supporting wire and optical cable; SSD cable: Self-supporting Figure 8 aerial cable)
