要約(日本語): Much effort has recently been reported to improve reliability and performance of today's Internet. Therefore, Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (M/TCP) has been proposed in our laboratory as a better alternative TCP option. M/TCP allows a sender to transmit data via multiple controlled paths to the same destination. Although several studies of M/TCP have been recently reported, research into retransmission mechanisms in M/TCP is still underdeveloped. We have been working on congestion control mechanisms in M/TCP including One-Way-Trip Time (OWTT) measurement and retransmission mechanisms. The OWTT measurement allows an M/TCP sender to estimate each route's time intervals of forward path and reverse path separately to calculate retransmission timeout for the next transmitted segment more precisely. The retransmission mechanisms allows the sender to perform quick retransmission to the receiver. We compared the performance of M/TCP to TCP Reno implementations using the ns2 simulator. We modified Reno's source code to include the new OWTT measurement and retransmission mechanisms. Simulation results show that M/TCP achieves significantly higher throughput than TCP Reno in the presence of error model and link down.
