要約(日本語): How to enhance the short-time storage quantities of the information and how to reduce memory load effectively became the popular researches. The present experiment used the ERP technique to investigate how pictures improve the understanding and memory of words in Japanese learning for Chinese bilinguals, by comparing the ERP components of the pure words recognition with the pictures combined words recognition. We found that a N170 distributed at the right frontal electrode sites differentiated between pictures and words recognition at study phase. In addition, a lasted longer N400 distributed at the frontal and central electrode sites for pictures at study phase. The results revealed that the activation of encoding of pictures were much stronger than words. At retrieval phase, P300 amplitude was greater and N400 amplitude was smaller for pictures than that for words. All results demonstrated that pictures enhanced memory related to words. So we advocated that Chinese bilinguals have better use abundant teaching materials which combined pictures with words to learn and remember Japanese words.
