要約(日本語): Patent literature has always been important for a class of literature information. Especially in today's information society, the number of access to information has become a key factor in winning. So patent retrieval is becoming more and more important. Retrieving patent is quite critical in various areas including science and technology, marketing, intellectual property ,right management, business and so on. Given the growing number of patents files in multiple countries, it is feasible that users are interested in retrieving patents across languages. However, many users have difficulty retrieving patents in foreign languages. To solve this problem, we developed a Japanese/English/Chinese multilingual patent retrieval system.. In the system users can retrieve and browse patents in foreign languages only by their native language. It translates a query in the user language into the target language, retrieves patents relevant to the query, and translates retrieved patents into the user language. The paper aims to build a multilingual patent retrieval system based on pragmatic information. We define pragmatic information as the information gain in the probability distributions of the receiver's actions, both before and after receipt of a message in some pre-defined ensemble. Using pragmatic information is to faster research and development of the technology for patent search and retrieval by providing a forum in which researchers and practitioners from relevant communities can share their ideas, approaches, perspectives, and experiences from their work in progress.
