要約(日本語): わが国では、高齢者の社会的自立を促進するために、自立した移動手段の確保は、重要な課題である。高齢者の移動手段をしては、シニアカー（電動車いす)がよく知られているが、長距離移動は搭載しているバッテリー容量に制限される。また、電動アシスト機能付き三輪自転車は、ペダルをこぐ必要がある。この度、これらの課題を解決するため、電動車いすとしての基本的な機能を有する三輪自転車の開発を行ったので、報告する。

要約(英語): Because of the aging society in Japan it is very important to have means of transportation which secure self-reliance. With these means of transportation senior citizens are able to be an independent part of our society.A so called “senior car” (motorized wheelchair) is a familiar vehicle for the elderly in Japan. But because of the limited battery capacity it is difficult to use “senior cars” for longer distances. And when using so called motorized tricycles it is necessary to push the pedals.To solve different kind of problems, we would like to report on this occasion the development of motorized tricycles, which have basic functions of motorized wheelchairs.
