要約(日本語): At present, railway signaling systems in which control information is transmitted via rails have been deployed in many applications such as automatic train control (ATC) systems for controlling train speed in Japan. Recently many studies of digital ATC systems that are realized by applying digital modulation methods have been conducted. However, it is difficult to increase the transmission speed due to transmission characteristics of rails. To overcome this problem, we have proposed a new modulation method combining code-division multiple access (CDMA) and quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), called the CDMA-QAM method. We developed the CDMA-QAM transmission devices using DSPs and FPGA. And we evaluated a performance of developed devices such as bit error rate (BER) characteristics.
