要約(日本語): We have tried to control in-plane aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) growth and/or chirality on ST-cut quartz substrates by in-situ irradiation of FEL in a CVD process. Irradiation effects of FEL with a wavelength of 800 nm were studied. In the case of FEL non-irradiation, SWNTs with metallic and/or semiconducting chirality were mainly obtained. On the other hand, the FEL irradiation resulted in a prior growth of semiconducting SWNTs with an energy gap corresponding to the irradiated FEL energy. A growth control mechanism of SWNTs was investigated with a respect of chirality and alignment.
