要約(英語): In a small volume production project like MakeLSI:, we can put extra circuits with small number of pins to evaluate circuit performances and SPICE models. In order to study such way of evaluation, we have designed and fabricated a multi-ring oscillator circuit. Although measurement results are not available yet, some design mistakes have been already discovered by simulations after the tape-out. They were caused by the lack of design experience, which resulted in insufficient circuit design before starting the layout design. In this report, we are going to summarize the mistakes in the design and try to make them lessons to learn. The design was performed in the ALB/ALTA system with the use of free tools like LTspice and WGeX. Improvements in ALB/ALTA system based on the actual design will be also reviewed.
