要約(日本語): Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas is known to be a prime candidate for an alternative to sulfur hexa-fluoride (SF6) gas as a thermal interruption gas and a large number of studies have been conducted to improve thermal ability of CO2. Some papers showed adding oxygen (O2) to CO2 has a good effect on thermal interruption performance of CO2. The authors carried out two-dimensional numerical simulation of arc extinction process in a CO2-O2 gas circuit breaker (GCB) model to analyze thermal interruption ability of CO2-O2 mixture gas. The results show influence of adding O2 to CO2 on the performance of the thermal interruption media in GCB.
