要約(日本語): Experiments of DC interruption were carried out in an arc quenching chamber filled with silica-sand. PA66, PMMA or Si-resin cylinders were installed between the electrodes. A damping DC with peak current of 1000 A was supplied as test current. As a result of PA66 installation, an arc voltage rose compared with that for no-polymer installation. Increase in the arc voltage was also found for PMMA or Si-resin installation. In addition, an atomization enthalpy of the polymer was uniquely defined and calculated based on chemical structure of the polymer. The increase in the arc voltage resulting from polymer-material installation could be explained on the basis of the atomization enthalpy of polymers
