Within the Tohoku Electric Power Co.,Inc. supply area, in addition to the direct damage caused by this earthquake, the thermal power plants and distribution facilities of the Pacific coast great damage to occurred by the Tsunami which occurred by the earthquake, and the large-scale power failure occurred. This paper reports the damage and measures taken of transmission and distribution equipment by Great East Japan Earthquake.
